CMU Outtatown program suspended for 2020-21

CMU regrets to announce that the Outtatown Discipleship School program has been suspended for the 2020-21 program year, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Outtatown's priority is the safety of its students, staff, and involved communities. The health risks and challenges that COVID-19 poses to a cohort-based travel program, such as physical distancing requirements, travel restrictions, and the uncertainty of a second wave of the virus, mean the program is unable to proceed.

Statement regarding the joint CMU/MB Seminary program

Dear students in the joint CMU/MB Seminary program, 

You likely have heard that for reasons of financial exigency MB Seminary (MBS) informed CMU this spring of the Seminary's decision to withdraw from the Affiliation Agreement between MB Seminary and CMU and to do so by May 31, 2021. In withdrawing from this Agreement, MB Seminary will cease to invest in 1.5 faculty positions at CMU, those of Andrew Dyck (1.0) and Pierre Gilbert (0.5; Gilbert 's other half position always has been connected only to CMU and is not affected by the MBS change).

CMU announces the 2020 Leadership Scholarship winners

Elizabeth Connelly, Hillary Jorgensen, Katrina Lengsavath, and Danika Warkentin are the recipients of this year's endowments: $3,500 annually up to four years, to a maximum value of $14,000 each.

CMU takes great pride in announcing the four winners of this year's Leadership Scholarships: Elizabeth Connelly of St. Bruno, SK (homeschooled); Hillary Jorgensen of Morris, MB (Morris School, K-12); Katrina Lengsavath of Winnipeg, MB (Gordon Bell High School); and Danika Warkentin of Pincher Creek, AB (St. Michael's Catholic School, K-12) are the winners of up to $14,000 each.

CMU is proud to announce a new appointment in the faculty of Biblical and Theological Studies. Sunder John Boopalan (PhD, Princeton Theological Seminary) is an interdisciplinary writer and researcher specializing in the areas of political theologies and ethics, with personal emphases in the areas of Dalit Christianity and redress of structural or systemic wrongdoing. He is also an ordained minister in the Progressive Baptist tradition.
