CMU to honour Terry LeBlanc and Bev LeBlanc with the 2022 PAX Award
Theologians and community organizers Terry LeBlanc and Bev LeBlanc will be honored with the 2022 Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) PAX Award.
CMU President Cheryl Pauls will present the award to the LeBlancs on April 30 at CMU's 2022 graduation ceremony, where Terry LeBlanc will also give the commencement address.

CMU supports and welcomes international students affected by conflict
Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) is providing financial and other support to students displaced by violence in their home countries and has extended special considerations to Ukrainian students and alumni who are displaced after Russia's attack on their homeland.
By way of collaboration and partnership with church and humanitarian aid groups, CMU has a history of making post-secondary education available to sponsored international/refugee students. CMU is actively exploring new opportunities to assist post-secondary students coming to Canada from war-affected areas, including Ukraine.

March 10 update: on-campus COVID-19 protocols
Here is an update on CMU's COVID-19 related protocols and end-of-term plans, as of March 10, 2022.
1. Masking Requirements
- Masks will continue to be required across campus until the end of the winter term, April 30, 2022.
- The following changes to the mask requirement will take effect March 15, 2022.
- Masks will not be required when teaching, presenting, performing, or recording

What does Mennonite literature look like today, and how can we read it productively? This is the question Assistant Professor of English at York University, Robert Zacharias seeks to answer at the 2022 John and Margaret Friesen Lectures.
On Thursday, March 3, Professor Zacharias will present two live and in-person lectures at Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) concerning the role of Mennonite literature in our current cultural context. Zacharias will investigate the historical background of the subject to possibly catch a glimpse into the future of Mennonite literature in North America.

On the Russian invasion of Ukraine
As the world faces the brazen attack on Ukraine, the learning community of Canadian Mennonite University aches for lives lost and torn apart by horrific violence. We walk alongside current CMU students from Ukraine, their families who are suffering greatly, and also our alumni living in Ukraine.
CMU joins with all who denounce Russian acts of violence against Ukraine. We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and all those with ties to the region. Together we seek dignity and peace within the sovereign state of Ukraine.
