Theme: The Canticles of Luke's Gospel
This month on Sunday@CMU, we are journeying together through the season of Advent. In these weeks leading up to the celebration of Jesus' birth, we will be exploring the canticles of three characters in the Gospel of Luke—Zechariah, Mary, and Simeon—who awaited a Saviour and sang of God's faithfulness, mercy, and salvation. And finally, we will celebrate Christmas Day!

Dear CMU students, staff, faculty, and sessional instructors,
In 2014 the CMU graduating class chose the following verse as a focus of its Convocation Celebration: What are you doing here? (1 Kings 19:13). It's a good question, good in the sense that it means more than one thing. The word "what" really does directly mean "what are you doing"; the question also means "why." Thus, "What are you doing here?" asks both, "what are you doing?" and "why are you here?".

Practicum student helps shape Anabaptist worship
When Amelia Pahl envisioned how her practicum would go, she didn't expect she would be dissecting an 18th century prayer book and seeing how it could be used for worship today. Yet this was one of the many tasks she took on this summer.
Pahl, a fourth-year CMU student doing an interdisciplinary degree in Religion and Narrative, did a three-month practicum placement with Together in Worship, a website of free Anabaptist worship resources that was launched this fall.

CMU Alumni Profile: Lauren Harms, BA General Social Sciences
Lauren Harms (BA '15, General Social Sciences) wears two hats, that of a pastor and of an art therapist, which are taken on and off in the same room in the same Calgary apartment every day over Zoom. Founder of "Lily Inspired", an art therapy practice that focuses on individual and group art therapy as well as expressive arts workshops, Harms combines the creative process and psychotherapy, enabling her clients to explore their healing through colour, shape, and form.
