Dr. Chris Rice, a respected global voice in peacebuilding, Mennonite Central Committee alumnus, and an award-winning author, will be in Manitoba for a series of speaking events from March 11-15.
Rice is the featured speaker at the Canadian Mennonite University Face2Face speaker series event on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 7:00 PM. The event is co-presented by MCC Manitoba and CMU and takes place at Marpeck Commons, 2299 Grant Ave., Winnipeg. He will present an address titled, Being Peacemakers for a World of Surging Polarization.

Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) and Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Canada, with funding from Global Affairs Canada, are excited to announce the launch a new learning and research hub website, lincz.ca.
In support of Locally led Indigenous Nature-based Solutions for Climate Change Adaptation in Zimbabwe (LINCZ) project, this website provides a platform to engage academic and international development communities and share project outcomes related to LINCZ work in Zimbabwe's Binga, Gwanda, and Mwenezi districts.

Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) is pleased to collaborate with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Canada in a new project, Locally-Led Indigenous Nature-based Solutions for Climate Change Adaptation in Zimbabwe (LINCZ).
This project is made possible with the support of Global Affairs Canada, which has allocated up to $15 million to MCC. This initiative will include funding to CMU to collaborate with Zimbabwean academic and development organizations involved in the project.

Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) will host its annual Canadian School of Peacebuilding (CSOP) lecture on June 16 at 7:30 PM in Marpeck Commons. Acclaimed professor, activist, and thought-leader Dr. Johonna McCants-Turner will give this year's public lecture.
Presenting "Choosing Love in the Wake of Wounding," McCants-Turner will be discussing how women of colour and practitioners in the transformative justice movement respond to violence by creating space for healing and accountability without punishment.

CMU President Dr. Cheryl Pauls presented the 2021 CMU PAX Award to Senator Dr. Mary Jane McCallum on Saturday, August 21 at CMU's convocation ceremony, where McCallum also delivered the graduation address.
This is the sixth year that CMU has presented the PAX Award, a distinction created to honour people who lead exemplary lives of service, leadership, and reconciliation in society.

After a year of mingling on Zoom and many online classes, the CMU community gathered in-person on August 21 to celebrate the Class of 2021. At an outdoor convocation ceremony on CMU's grounds, CMU President Dr. Cheryl Pauls conferred 68 undergraduate degrees, 20 master's degrees, and three certificates.
"This afternoon we celebrate 91 beloved graduands, and give public witness of our trust in you. God's gifts of wisdom and insight are embodied in your character, your skills, and the vocation of your thinking and doing," said Pauls in her opening remarks.
