After years of research, reflection, and writing, CMU Associate Professor of New Testament Dr. Sheila Klassen-Wiebe has published a new commentary on the biblical book of James.
The book, part of the prominent Believers Church Bible Commentary series, will be launched on Monday, May 4 at 7:00 PM. Hosted by CommonWord Bookstore and Resource Centre in Marpeck Commons, and available via livestream, the event will include reflections from Cheryl Braun and Moses Falco, along with Klassen-Wiebe's own insights on the text.

Renowned scholar and theologian Dr. Willie James Jennings is in high demand across North America. On his schedule this month is a trip to Canadian Mennonite University (CMU), where he'll be delivering the 2023 J.J. Thiessen Lecture.
He will deliver his lecture, titled, "Gathering the pieces that remain: Weaving life together from the fragments of faith, race, and land" on Friday, October 27 at 7:00 PM in person at Marpeck Commons (2299 Grant Ave.) and via livestream.

The public is invited to attend the event, titled, "Whose Neighbour Am I? Treaty One and Mennonite Privilegium." The discussion will take place on Wednesday, October 10 at 7:00 PM in Marpeck Commons (2299 Grant Ave.). Admission is free, and all are welcome.

The Centre for Resilience (CFR) is a co-working lab on the fourth floor of CMU's historic building at 500 Shaftesbury Blvd. that will incubate and nurture social enterprises. Faculty, students and staff celebrated the grand opening of the $1.7 million centre on April 13.
