Bangladeshi judge travels to CSOP to learn about refugee response

Growing up, Shahadat Hossain dreamt of contributing to his country's legal system. That dream became a reality, and for the past 10 years, Hossain has worked as a judge.
"In our country, most of the people are poor," said Hossain, who lives in Bogra, a major city in northeast Bangladesh. "Most of the litigant people are poor, and I wanted to do something for them—to help them, to give them justice."

Five refugee resettlement experts with experience in Canada's past and present programs will participate in a panel discussion examining the past, present and future of Canada's refugee resettlement efforts.
The public is invited to attend the event, titled, "Refugee Resettlement in Canada: Moving Forward from Lessons of the Past." The discussion will take place on Tuesday, February 6 at 7:00 PM in Eckhardt Gramatte Hall, at the University of Winnipeg. Admission is free, and all are welcome.

Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) is pleased to welcome Lee Kosa as Pastor in Residence next month.
Kosa, who is the lead pastor at Cedar Park Church in Delta, BC, will be on campus Monday, February 5 to Friday, February 9.

Five Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) students from diverse Christian traditions will participate in a panel discussion exploring the Bible.
The public is invited to attend the event titled, "The Bible Tells Me So... Doesn't It? – A Conversation with Young Adults on the Tensions of Taking Scripture Seriously." The discussion will take place on Monday, February 5 at 7:00 PM in Marpeck Commons (2299 Grant Ave.). Admission is free, and all are welcome.
