April 25 update: on-campus COVID-19 protocols

To close of the winter semester, here is an update to on-campus protocols, requirements, and closures:

  1. Starting May 1, 2022, masks are not a requirement on the main Shaftesbury campus for at least the summer months. Masks are recommended if you have been in contact with someone who has been ill, if you have any symptoms yourself, or for other reasons for which you feel wearing a mask would be appropriate.
  2. If you test positive for COVID-19, please follow provincial recommendations for isolation periods, as found here. If you are otherwise feeling unwell, please stay home until recovered, as the preservation of a healthy in-person experience remains a priority.

CMU is Climate Smart certified again in 2022

Maybe it's that Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) is nestled delicately into the scenic Assiniboine Forest; possibly, it's a deeply embedded philosophy or theology, but it's clear that sustainability has always been important to CMU.

Suitably, CMU is once again Climate Smart certified for 2022—apt timing for Earth Day. This is CMU's second certification. The first was in 2020.

Theologians and community organizers Terry LeBlanc and Bev LeBlanc will be honored with the 2022 Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) PAX Award.

CMU President Cheryl Pauls will present the award to the LeBlancs on April 30 at CMU's 2022 graduation ceremony, where Terry LeBlanc will also give the commencement address.
