Celebrated Canadian pianist to give concert at Canadian Mennonite University

Jane Coop, one of Canada's most respected and cherished pianists, will present an exciting program of Beethoven and Rachmaninoff on Canadian Mennonite University's newly acquired Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand piano.

The concert is at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, November 14 in the Laudamus Auditorium at CMU, 500 Shaftesbury Blvd.

Pianist from Saskatchewan wins 2018 Verna Mae Janzen Music Competition

A pianist from Saskatchewan is the winner of the 13th annual Verna Mae Janzen Music Competition at Canadian Mennonite University (CMU).

Emma Heinrichs' performance earned her first place and the $700 prize that comes with it on Thursday, February 15.

CMU students set to participate in 13th annual Verna Mae Janzen Music Competition

Canadian Mennonite University is pleased to announce the 13th Verna Mae Janzen Music Competition, which will take place on Thursday, February 15.

The annual event features students from the CMU School of Music competing for three cash prizes. The first-place winner is awarded $700, the second-place winner receives $500, and the third-place winner takes home $300.

Music Therapy graduate making a difference

Jesse Dollimont has always known about music's therapeutic effect, but it became especially real to her while working as an intern at the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary, AB.

Dollimont, who graduated from CMU with a Bachelor of Music Therapy in 2016, recalls times during her internship when she would go to the hospital's intensive care unit and play music for a child in distress.

Winnipeg—The public is invited to a concert at Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) celebrating the Protestant Reformation.
