The Public Health Agency of Canada continues to assess the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as low in Canada, with the risk to public health reassessed as new information becomes available.

There are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba and the risk remains low.

New Book on Mennonite History Planned

The Mennonite Historical Society of Canada is utilizing the resources of Mennonite universities in Canada to research and write an updated history book on the history of Mennonites in Canada from 1970-2020. They have invited Conrad Grebel University College (Grebel) Archivist-Librarian Laureen Harder-Gissing to co-author this book with Brian Froese, Associate Professor of History at Canadian Mennonite University (CMU).

Heroic Overtime Comeback Gives CMU First NIAC Championship

The Providence Pilots did what they could to try to ice Madison Wood, but the 2nd year product of Morden Collegiate held her nerves and calmly swished a championship-winning free-throw with 3.7 seconds left in overtime to give CMU a 72-71 lead and their first-ever NIAC championship banner.

It was an all-Manitoba final on Sunday afternoon in the 2020 Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball championship game when the Pilots and Blazers clashed in Cass Lake, Minnesota, both teams leaving everything on the floor in an effort to bring a trophy back to Canada.
