Jesse Dollimont has always known about music's therapeutic effect, but it became especially real to her while working as an intern at the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary, AB.
Dollimont, who graduated from CMU with a Bachelor of Music Therapy in 2016, recalls times during her internship when she would go to the hospital's intensive care unit and play music for a child in distress.

Acclaimed Winnipeg singer-songwriter Steve Bell will receive the 2018 CMU PAX Award.
President Dr. Cheryl Pauls will present the award to Bell on April 5, 2018 at Gather. Give. Celebrate. Spring at CMU*, an annual fundraiser in support of the university.

A Mennonite pastor hopes that the legalization of cannabis will allow the church to open up “theological discussions” about all sorts of substance use.
The legalization of cannabis gives the church an opportunity to discuss the New Testament emphasis on healing and reconciliation as God’s response to brokenness, said Erin Morash, pastor at two rural Mennonite churches located two hours southwest of Winnipeg.

SIMCOE, ON — The public is invited to a celebration for a new book detailing the life of Dr. Vera Good, a pioneering educator and television producer from Waterloo County.
Good and author Nancy Silcox will be on hand to launch The Exceptional Vera Good: A Life Beyond the Polka Dot Door on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 2:00 PM. The launch will take place in the party room at Norview Lodge Retirement Home in Simcoe, ON (44 Rob Blake Way). All are welcome to attend.
