#myCMUlife | From farms to far-off adventures: How do students spend their summers?

As the end of the year was upon us and students were going between applying for jobs, moving out, and preparing for the summer, I swooped in to cause a distraction and find out what the average CMU student is using their summer for.
The average answer is one you would expect: working to pay for school. But I found a few students that, in my opinion, were doing something more interesting with their months off.
One residence student is taking a trip to South Korea and possibly Japan with their family. As the writer (fuelled by jealousy and surprise), I absolutely had to ask some questions. "My aunt's family is from Korea, so they're meeting up with us and showing us around," the student explained. "Plus, my mom's a huge fan of the culture and wants to see it all. I'm really excited!"

Step inside the doors of Canadian Mennonite University's (CMU) library, and you'll find yourself at the institution's heart. Each shelf holds stories of the past, present, and future, ready to be explored. The CMU library is more than just a resource; it's a place where curiosity thrives and community bonds are strengthened.
Over 135,000 items are in CMU's collection, but a significantly smaller subset sits in the special collections room. It's a place where Professor of English Paul Dyck says the utility and value of printed books will remain eternal.

God at Work in the Lives of Abraham and Sarah

Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) is pleased to announce that its social work program will be pre-accredited by the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) effective July 1, 2024. This significant recognition ensures that students who earn a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at CMU will be fully entitled and prepared to practice in the field of social work anywhere in Canada.

It was September 1991. I remember my arrival at Poettcker Hall like it was yesterday (although back then it didn't hold this name). I remember tentatively stepping into the dorm room that would be my home for the next eight months and meeting my new roommate who had already settled in to her half of the space. I can still taste the spicy stew of anticipation, excitement, and plain old nerves—the hallmark butterflies of young adult new beginnings. I'm sure many of you have similar memories.
