From Student to Teacher: A Journey of Faith, Learning, and Community

Kenny Wollmann is a high school educator, teaching primarily Bible, theology, and world religions—but not in a typical classroom. Wollmann teaches students online in Hutterite communities across Manitoba and even into the northern United States.
Hutterites are communal Anabaptist Christian groups who live in rural colonies, share belongings and resources, and often sustain themselves through agriculture. With only small groups of students in each community, sharing resources, like teachers who are each experts in their subjects, helps ensure a robust learning program.

Addressing diverse themes from distant historical periods, Ukrainian professor Dr. Nataliya Venger provides listeners with the opportunity to immerse themselves once again in the unique world of Mennonite history in both a remote and more immediate historical perspective.

How do we contextualize conflicts and understand justifications for war? While this may be a loaded question with no easy answer, It is nonetheless important to ask when working towards reformative justice.
From ancient Greece to the Canadian West, CMU offers a variety of comprehensive courses to provide students with the necessary tools to discern and explain how ambiguous histories influence our current circumstances.

Theme: Stories from the Mennonite Heritage Archives
This month on Sunday@CMU, we are hearing from Conrad Stoesz. He will be sharing stories that have been preserved in documents and artifacts in the archives, which he also presents on his radio segment, Still Speaking. Conrad is the archivist at the Mennonite Heritage Archives, affiliated with CMU, where he has worked since 1999. He is also an alumnus of Canadian Mennonite Bible College, one of CMU's predecessor colleges.

What if they had not scattered, and not been variously shaped by atrocities like those of tsarist Russian tyranny, communist revolution, or Nazi war? What would Mennonites be like today if they had never left the Netherlands?
