Brian Grunau and Miriam Schellenberg graduated from CMU in 2003. They currently live in Vancouver, where Brian works as an emergency physician at St. Paul’s Hospital and Miriam works as a school psychologist for the Vancouver School District.

It's a big question we ask ourselves - how can I engage in acts of peace and justice in my community... in my day to day life? If you have heard Shane Claiborne speak, you may have heard him say, "God is about to do something... small!" This is not to say that when we engage in peace and justice that it is a "small" thing. In the first century, a meal meant a lot... who you ate with, where, when, what you talked about, and of course... the food. Now, in the 21st Century, I think we might underestimate the value of a meal with friends (and I am stretching the idea of friends to include those who you just met).

The Winnipeg Folk Festival was two months ago, but students at CMU are hoping some of the energy from that event will live on at the MPK Folk Festival on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Organized by the Arts & Entertainment Committee from CMU’s Student Council, the MPK Folkfest is a music event that is part of the university’s Fall Festival. Held in the Back 40—a space in the forest behind CMU’s south side—the event features musical performances by CMU students and alumni.
