Get to know your student ambassador: Cesar Flores

Hey, I’m Cesar, born in Honduras and raised in Guatemala and El Salvador although I spent the past eight years in Bolivia. I enjoy playing all sorts of sports, eating spicy or sour candy, and I love reading comic books, especially Marvel comics. Going to the movies with friends is one of my favourite things to do. I spent my summer traveling around Central America, visiting friends and saying goodbyes to my family.

One of the reasons I decided to attend to CMU was because of its International Development program which is taught by professors who not only know the material that they are teaching but have done field work. These professors are very interested in our life experiences and are willing to learn from us and encourage us to share our views and stories to enhance the learning experience. I come from a very small high-school which allowed me to get to know everyone at a more personal level. I wanted to continue having that experience through university and CMU offered that strong community centered I had come to enjoy.

Get to know your student ambassador: Heather Muir

Hi there! Heather here, a 3rd year general studies student here at CMU. I'm so excited to begin my second year as a Student Ambassador!

To start things off, here's a little bit about me: I live here in Winnipeg, MB, and I commute to school everyday—in fact this year I am a Commuter Assistant! This means that I get to help plan really awesome events particularly for the students who do not live in residences. I am also a member of the CMU Jazz Band, which is lots of fun and means I get to fuel my love for music even though I'm not in the music program!
