CMU prof completes unfinished book by mentor, friend
Paul Doerksen's latest book is one he hoped he would never have to work on.
Doerksen, Associate Professor of Theology and Anabaptist Studies at CMU, is the editor of Toward an Anabaptist Political Theology: Law, Order, and Civil Society. Published this past October by Wipf and Stock, the book is a collection of essays by the late theologian A. James Reimer.

Injury, care of faculty leads to fulfilling change in career direction
Kim Wiens was an accomplished pianist and clarinettist studying music performance at Canadian Mennonite Bible College when a terrible injury forced her to re-evaluate her future.
During the summer between her first and second year at CMBC, one of CMU’s predecessor colleges, Wiens worked as a counsellor at Camp Valaqua in Water Valley, AB. She was moving a ping-pong table with its sides up. One of the sides came crashing down, crushing her hand.

Peters, a program manager with Canadian Mennonite University’s Outtatown Discipleship School, met with Tutu in his Cape Town office this past January.

Finding Your Voice in Academic Writing Lab
Writing does not always come easy for some of us, and the thought of handing in your first university essay, proposal, etc. can be very frightening. Prior to joining the CMU community, I had taken an AP English class that I felt had given me a decent grasp on essay writing. However, as classes began to pick up and I received syllabi, a stomach-wrenching realization came over me as I failed to recognize most of the academic writing styles in which I would have to write future essays. I felt a little embarrassed to ask for help and thought I would have to resort to the all-knowing gurus known to our generation by the names of Google and YouTube.
